Shaun McKinley, prayer ministries coordinator for the Church of God of Prophecy, represented the Church in two prayer events in May, including the 65th Annual National Day of Prayer observances in the United States’ capital, Washington, D.C.

The events began with a banquet honoring outgoing National Day of Prayer Task Force Chairperson, Shirley Dobson, which allowed McKinley an opportunity to meet with Dobson and her husband, Dr. James Dobson, as well as Dr. Tony Evans and his wife, Lois, and representatives from other churches, such as the International Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Church of God.

Additional activities included a Men’s Prayer Gathering, featuring Rep. Louie Gohmert (Texas), Dr. Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council, and Dr. Bruce Wilkinson, and the National Day of Prayer Service in the Caucus Room of the Cannon Office Building on Capitol Hill where McKinley represented the COGOP among 300 other participants, including Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, author of The Harbinger.

“I believe the connections and exposure will prove beneficial as we move toward achieving the prayer goals as outlined in Vision 2020,” McKinley said.

Prior to the National Day of Prayer, McKinley participated in the Light 2016 prayer gathering in Jamestown, Virginia, featuring Dr. Bob Bakke, teaching pastor of Hillside Church in Bloomington, Minnesota.
